So its been recently announced what the deal is with the teaser image of a supposed Hulk/Wolverine hybrid in the green tank.
Well it seems a new crossover titled “Weapons of Mutant Destruction” will be created and feature casts from Weapon X and Totally Awesome Hulk. Amadeus Cho (the “awesome” Hulk) will team up with characters like Old Man Logan, Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike. They will work together to stop a secret project meant to create hybrid mutants much like the Hulk/Wolverine creature teased in the earlier photo.
Now this does sound pretty cool, but I am TOTALLY not a fan of this new Hulk. So right off the bat I am sadly dismissing this series. If this was the old, more intense rage -filled Hulk you would be having me throw money at you. But alas Marvel…I will keep my money.
What also pisses me off is in reference to IGN’s coverage of this. They mention this is a “natural fit, given the long rivalry between Wolverine and Hulk..” THIS IS NOT THE SAME HULK! The rivalry is not there! At least I am not aware of Amadeus having issues with Logan. In any case it’s not the same thing. Old Man Logan and Amadeus are not in the same ballpark as far as I’m concerned.
But I can see what they are doing by making old and new characters match up. Doesn’t change my mind on this though.
Each day brings us closer and closer to November 3rd.The day of Ragnarok. And slowly details and photos are leaking regarding the film. Recently images surfaced of the new Lego mini figs. In fact it seems loose figures have begun making it onto eBay with large prices from China.
Feel free to look online for more photos regarding Thor and whatnot. Our focus here is the Hulk. Looking at the Gladiator Hulk mini-figure I realized I missed out on another new feature of this Hulk. His tattoos/body paint. If you see the artwork leaked some months back you can kind of see the marks but they blend in with the highlights. I missed them. But with this latest figure it confirms the basic new look for the Hulk. The armor, of course, being expected given the photos from SDCC.
Each new reveal makes me even more pumped for the new movie. Given there is so much Hulk in this it actually makes me sad this movie doesn’t have the dual title of Thor & Hulk: Ragnarok! Alas, we Hulk fans will take what we can get. I just hope they do the character justice. Especially if they plan for him to open his mouth in this installment.
So its been revealed by Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso that a new character is being cooked up…literally. He tweeted the photo shown below stating ‘Under Construction’. The figure appears big, muscular, and green; but with the inclusion of some very recognizable claws.
We must first ask if this is indeed a Hulk. Well the green liquid and large size certainly attribute as such. And the fact its referred to as Batch “H” well that can only stand for Hulk right? Unless that’s Hawkeye in there or something.
Which then leads to the next question; which Hulk is this? Is he a NEW Hulk? The Totally Awesome Hulk? Or could this be our beloved INCREDIBLE HULK back from the dead (again) somehow?
If it’s not Bruce Banner then I at least hope this is a new Hulk to help wash the bad taste of the Amadeus Hulk out of my mouth. Imagine a Hulk with the mind and tools of Wolverine…and unleashed! Now that would be awesome.
Yes, Yes, I do recall Wolverage from the Hulked out Heroes storyline. But also what if this Hulk has an Adamantium skeleton? What if he has other powers not revealed here? Is he the first batch of many? Could there be other characters on the horizon with hybrid abilities? Captain America with Spidey sense? Black Panther with lazer eyes?
Things could get very interesting. We will have to wait and see.
My Hulk is back and you’re gonna be in trouble.
(Hey, la-di-la, my Hulk is back.)
When you see him comin’, better cut out on the double.
(Hey, la-di-la, my Hulk is back.) Yes, it is true. Hulk and Bruce are back from the dead. And after only four months!
This story occurs in this months and next months issue of Uncanny Avengers #15 and #16 (released Oct. 12th and November 9th). Details are somewhat limited on what brought this about. From what I understand the ninja assassin group known as ‘The Hand’ will use their ancient magic to resurrect Bruce and thus the Hulk back to life. This also in effect gives them control of the green beast for their own ends.
I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand I am very happy he’s back. I mean this is the original green man himself. The incredible Hulk. Not some “totally awesome” poser.
On the other hand though it totally demeans the character’s death in the first place. And by extension weakens the overall impact of any future deaths Marvel has planned. They either should have waited longer (at least a year) or figured out some other way to do it. Like maybe a series where the Hulk’s closest friend reminisce on his past actions or most memorable stories. Maybe give their unique perspective on how they saw him during those times. A highlight reel of sorts. It would have been a great way to introduce the best of the Hulk to new readers before bringing him back officially.
In any case mean green is back and who knows how a recently dead Hulk will react. Pet Cemetery comes to mind…. Now he’s back and things will be fine.
(Hey, la-di-la, my Hulk is back.)
You’re gonna be sorry you were ever born.
(Hey, la-di-la, my Hulk is back.)
A record smashing event has occurred in the month of September 2016. A vintage comics seller, ComicConnect, sold a copy of Incredible Hulk #1 for an INCREDIBLE $375,000! Created in 1962 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby this sale sets a new record for this key issue.
This copy was appraised as a CGC 9.2 grade, making it one of only four copies in the world at this grade. Previous sales of copies at this grade reached as high as $320,000 back in 2014 and $326,000 just two months prior to this record breaker.
Only one copy exists at a higher CGC grade of 9.4 and most likely will not be up for sale for quite some time.
Typically a high grade copy of 9.0 to 7.0 sells for about $70,000. If you go to sites like eBay you can locate copies around CGC 4.0 and below for around $10,000 to maybe $4,000.
Is this record sale a sign of the Hulk’s increased popularity? Or simply a rare instance of a bidder war out of control? In any case I wish I had the funds to afford a tore up copy of this book. This book is the holy grail of my collection and most likely I’ll never have it.
Given the lack of news I was beginning to think the Hulk’s new animated film ‘Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell’ was merely rumor.
But finally some concrete evidence of the film is coming to light, in the best way possible…a premier!
‘Where Monsters Dwell’ is scheduled, courtesy of Marvel Animation, for a special viewing at NYCC on October 9th from 10:30 am to 12.
The film is being described as “spooky, action packed” and “family friendly”. So as I expected they are probably going the monster route in response to Halloween right around the corner. But the family friendly part is bit off-putting considering previous information described the film as more “adult oriented”. So I’m not sure where it sits in terms of content.
The news has also re-confirmed the inclusion of Dr. Strange and the Howling Commandos. In addition it has been mentioned they will be battling the supervillain Nightmare (shown below).Given the amount of time for the viewing one can assume the film will be anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes along.
This news has me slightly confused as to the tone of this film, but nonetheless I am very excited. Hopefully they will announce a release date after the premier. Perhaps even a teaser trailer. TRICK-OR-TREAT!!!
For additional info see my first post regarding the film HERE.

San Diego Comic Con is over but it has left us with plenty to be excited about. In addition to the super sweet Gladiator armor for the Hulk (to be featured in Thor: Ragnarok) seems a new animated Hulk movie has been announced.
Due to arrive in Fall of this year, ‘Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell’ is to feature our green goliath co-starring alongside Dr. Strange. No doubt in order to drum up excitement for the new Dr. Strange movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch. Given the film is releasing in November I am going to predict ‘Monsters Dwell’ will release in October to coincide with the Halloween season.
The Howling Commandos of S.H.I.E.L.D.
To further support my prediction, Strange and Hulk will be joined by the Howling Commandos. This name is attributed to a few military groups within the Marvel Universe. Most notably they were featured more or less in the first Captain America movie. However, the report given on this film details the words “monster team”. So I am assuming its the more ferocious team shown here.
If this wasn’t exciting enough it’s been promised this film will be more “adult-oriented”. In such the way it is being compared to DC’s soon to be released “Batman: The Killing Joke” movie. This alone is great because after having to deal with the absurdity that was the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. I am so ready for Hulk to go nuts!
With all this said I think we Hulk fans have something to look forward to. I know I’m excited and I’m ready to get SMASHED!
